Senior Story: Mac and His Last Day In a Shelter ...

Corgis don't usually do well in shelters. It can be a very stressful environment. Just ask Mac.

At 13, he was left at the shelter because his owner became ill. As a senior, his chances of being adopted weren't good.

But luck was on his side.

Today a wonderful couple went to see Mac and they took him home. "Now he will give and get love for a long while to come" writes Deb R., who kindly shared this story with me.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if they could all be as fortunate as Mac? Hey, a gal can dream.

Update 1/8/2013: Check out Mac's new digs and friends here! He is one happy boy!

I adopted a dog from Corgi rescue in a similar situation -- 8 years old. He became my beloved Dewi -- that everyone should have such a sweet dog. I was blessed to have him for 5 more years. There is joy in an older dog. They are trained, loving and grateful for the attention.

Beautiful. What a great way for Mac to spend his retirement years in your loving home. I too got a corgi when he was 9 years old. What a joy he is
for us. He's snoring right now. I love that sound.
