Wayback Wednesday: Fergie!

Today The Daily Corgi rolls out a new feature: Wayback Wednesdays! Every Wednesday, former Dogs of the Day will return as drop-in guests to catch us up on their comings and goings.

The Adoptables feature will continue to run -- it's just been moved to Thursdays. Tune in tomorrow for an update on Corgi mix Wrigley, who got adopted!

Fergie first appeared on the blog with best buddy Byron back in April, 2012. Since then, this vivacious, talkative girl has been living well with the lymphoma her doctors diagnosed a year ago.

According to the McLin family, "Fergie continues to do great. She finished her first round of chemo in February but the remission period only held until the end of May. We did go through a second round of chemo that has kept the lymphoma in remission through most of the treatment, but some of the nodes did start to firm up latter in the treatment.  Soon we'll determine whether to continue a maintenance chemo protocol or go into a rescue protocol."

The highlight of our Summer was a return to the Lubec, Maine area where we've rented a house the last few years. She did a three mile hike with us on the Bold Coast Trail in Cutler Maine. We also went to Campbello Island in New Brunswick, where Fergie and Byron got to play on the isolated beaches out there and ate like a horse. The weather was cool so they could go everywhere with us."

"She still loves to play ball with best friend Byron -- who continues to do well -- and with all of her friends at our Corgi Meetup Group. Fergie has an off day after treatment but overall does great."

"We'll see how it goes. As long as Fergie is Fergie, she will go on. We just hope she goes on for many more months."

doG bless, Fergie!
